I heard it again... Margaret/Toutle going general
« on: June 25, 2011, 03:34:37 PM »
So I heard it again, the Margaret and Toutle going to be a general season unit next year. Also the state is going to be going away with the East/West elk tags. I've heard this for a few years now but nothing ever happens. I guess its just wishful thinking.
Has anyone else heard this?

I doubt they will ever combine the East and West tags... If they do,  they willl for sure change the hunting dates.
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

It doesn't matter what you think...

Open it all up and charge us $1,500.00 for a hunting license plus tags.  That would be a WDFW tactic I wouldn't put past them. But boy would I miss throwing the big Pitty Party for myself every year in June.  I look forward to it oh so much  :'(.

I too would have to say  :bs: on the rumor mill.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I heard the toutle and margaret was seriously considering going general by a biologist. With the size of the herds they would go general.

From what I've heard these are just ideas for the scoping surveys for the season setting process for the next three year period. The surveys are supposed to be sent out to randomly selected people in the next few months.

They would stand to lose a lot of revenue if they did.  Unless WeyeCo will make up the difference.  Its was part their idea to increase the tags in their for damage to the tree farm.  I heard this about 15 years ago and here we are.
